A Year On
At the time of writing this, it has been nearly a year since I was in the Observatory. It was cold, it was wet, it was confusing: but it was also the catalyst for a new direction in my work.
I kept a journal of my time there, and just about got the hang of the charcoal heater! There is also this short video interview, by Matt Dunkinson, which gives a good flavour of what I got up to then.
And where did it lead? Well, I am now working with a beatbox flautist, Tadek Chylinski-Reid, on a new improvised soundtrack called Score for a Flautist, which is a direct result of the research I did in Winchester.
So thank you Observatory. I look forward to seeing where you go next.
